Pipe Cutting Process

To manufacture gas lighters using MS (Mild Steel) pipes, the pipe cutting process typically involves several steps. Here's an overview of the process:

1. Material Selection:

· Choose MS pipes of appropriate diameter and thickness suitable for gas lighter bodies.

2. Pipe Cutting:

· Pipe Cutting Machine: Utilize a pipe cutting machine capable of cutting MS pipes with precision. This machine could be a Power Press, or any other suitable cutting equipment.

· Setup Dimension: Set up the cutting machine with the correct specifications for the desired length of the gas lighter bodies.

· Cutting: Feed the MS pipes into the cutting machine and initiate the cutting process to produce individual sections of the required length.

3. End Treatment:

· Deburring: After cutting, use deburring tools or processes to remove any burrs or sharp edges from both ends of the cut MS pipe sections. This ensures smooth and safe handling during further processing.

· Cleaning: Clean the cut pipe sections to remove any debris or contaminants that may affect the subsequent manufacturing processes.

4. Forming and Shaping:

· Depending on the design of the gas lighter, the cut MS pipe sections may undergo additional forming and shaping processes. This could include bending, stamping, or other techniques to achieve the desired shape and functionality of the gas lighter body.

Our Chrome Process

Chrome Process

· Surface preparation

· Manual cleaning to remove dirt and surface impurities from mild steel pipe by kerosene

· Removal of remaining organic contaminants using emulsion cleaning, alkaline cleaning, anodic electrocleaning, or solvent cleaning by immersion, spray, manual application, or vapor

condensation

· Rinsing & electroetching

· Immersion in the chrome plating bath, where the part is allowed to warm to solution temperature

· Application of plating current for the required time to attain the desired thickness

· Dry Part in Heating fan

There are many variations to this process, depending on the type of substrate being plated. Different substrates need different etching solutions, such as hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, Nickel and sulfuric acids. Ferric chloride is also popular for the etching of nimonic alloys. Sometimes the component enters the chrome plating vat while electrically live. Sometimes the component has a conforming anode made from lead/tin or platinized titanium.
